When I was asked to photograph my friends wedding, I couldn't hold in my excitement! Two good friends were tying the knot, and as I was a guest, I was also the photographer. My other half, Rich, stepped up to second shoot, and nailed it! Together, we took a road trip up to New Liskeard, where the wedding was being held at the brides parents cottage. It was a whole weekend of relaxed fun with their family and friends, with a guest list at about 45 people, the wedding perfectly reflected on the love these two share, in the brides favourite place on this planet.
I told Alix, she was the most relaxed bride I ever seen on her wedding day. Each of them had only two people in their wedding party, thus Alix spent the morning of her wedding getting ready with her two best friends. This shot of Alix and her bridesmaid Kathryn drinking prosecco and doing their nails on the balcony is one of my favourites.
This wasn't your "typical wedding" - but it was exactly what these two are all about. I love this shot Rich got of one of Davids groomsmen prior to the wedding, as well, the scenery and details were beautiful. Situated on Lake Temiskaming, there was plenty of greenery, and I just adored the table settings.
As the ceremony began, David watched as his bride walked down to him. Right on the lake with trees surrounding us, everyone gathered and stood to watch the two tie the knot.
The ceremony was beautiful and full of laughter! Afterwards, I stole the newlyweds away for some photos, we took a group photo (which consisted of me setting my camera on a timer so I could be a part of it...third time was a charm!), a delicious steak dinner, and hanging out on the beach into the wee hours of the morning...including another steal away for some photos at the water as the sun was setting. The sunsets in Northern Ontario are to die for! Keep scrolling for some of my favourites from this day!
