My big sister had her champagne birthday this year, 30 years old on August 30th. Her favourite place is our family cottage, so everyone got together and headed up to Huntsville, Muskoka, for a weekend of family hangouts, balloons, bonfires...typical family cottage stuff.
We were not blessed with the best weather, however we made the most of it. Being in a place this beautiful, you don't let the weather get you down! My dad took some of us out for a boat ride/Lake Vernon tour in the late morning, which was peaceful and beautiful. With the overcast weather and at the time we went out, the lake was practically empty aside from us, and had a pleasant stillness to it.
So, this being the first time my family had gotten together at the cottage in a while, and it being my sisters milestone birthday shortly after she got married, we had some fun. My brother played guitar, we busted out a horse head mask, some people casually went fishing, while some of us had some fun with double exposures.
Then the celebrations began! My brother-in-law brought some balloons, which obviously meant photoshoots. We lucked out because there was no rain, and so we all enjoyed outdoor cottage BBQ, followed by an awesome bonfire - where we lucked out again - because broken musokoka chairs = awesome fires.
It's hard to not have a good time when you're up at the cottage, and I don't think I've ever seen someone happier considering they just hit an age milestone :p Happy Birthday Torie!
